Giridhar Pai Associates Celebrates World Food Day 2025
Food security is a fundamental necessity and a cornerstone of public health.
Nonetheless, food is inherently vulnerable to pest infestation during various phases, from crop production to storage, processing, and consumption.
The global pest control industry plays a critical role in protecting our food supply, ensuring it remains uncontaminated by pests and safe for human consumption.
Recognising the above challenge, Giridhar Pai Associates (GPA) has prioritised food protection through strategic global partnerships focused on innovative pest management solutions.
Since its inception in 2020, GPA’s mission has centred around developing a safe food supply chain. Our unique focus is on non-toxic pest prevention and monitoring tactics, which resonate with growing consumer demands for sustainability and safety in food production and handling.
Our first collaboration was with Pestroniks Innovations Pte. Ltd., resulting in the launch of the FLYght range of fly monitoring devices, including the FLYght One, the FLYght Duo and the FLYght Deco.
These devices stand out as market leaders in multiple regions, including India, Singapore, the USA, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives (with Bentz Jaz of Singapore having the distribution rights in Singapore and Bentz Jaz USA distributing the product in the United States of America).
The FLYght Duo is a fly monitoring tool, not a fly control device, allowing food industry professionals to identify the type of filth flies and gauge their indoor populations inside their facilities.
By combining the FLYght Duo’s capabilities with stringent hygiene practices and physical barriers, food processing establishments can minimise fly infestations, ensuring safer processing and storage conditions.
In 2022, our partnership network expanded further with the introduction of RodeXit ApS N.A, bringing the RodeXit All-In-One (RodeXit) rodent seal to the Indian market.
RodeXit is a pioneering product that addresses rodent entry issues at critical points, such as gaps beneath doors and shutters, thereby enhancing food safety by preventing rodent entry into food areas.
The RodeXit seal has garnered favour among food safety managers in India, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia, emerging as a vital tool in the ongoing fight against rodent contamination in food supply chains.
Simultaneously, GPA forged a significant alliance with Trece, Inc. (Trece), a leader in the stored product insect pheromone monitoring domain.
Our partnership with Trece led to the successful reintroduction of the Storgard Insect Monitoring Systems in India in 2024.
Storgard traps used with SPI-specific pheromone lures are indispensable for monitoring stored product insects (SPIs), which pose serious threats to dry food products.
The Quick Change Dome and Storgard II traps have once again become essential tools for Indian spice companies, flour millers, instant noodle manufacturers and several other dry food companies committed to maintaining the highest food safety standards by eliminating SPIs in their supply chain.
In 2024, GPA further extended its innovative approach by introducing the New Serrico Trap from Fuji Flavours Co. Ltd.
The New Serrico trap, previously inaccessible to Indian customers, has now become a vital resource in monitoring in-transit cigarette beetles. Its successful adaptation in the Indian food industry signifies GPA’s relentless efforts to ensure food safety throughout the supply chain.
Continuing this commitment to innovation in pest management, GPA co-developed the SPP Diamond Trapp with Gumtree Traps Private Limited.
The SPP Diamond Trapp is a unique almond moth monitoring tool that is setting new standards for pest control within the chocolate supply chain and in other dry food products that almond moths infest.
Additionally, our partnership with Gumtree has introduced an effective beetle attractant oil designed to enhance monitoring efforts further.
Our business strategy transcends product-based innovations.
GPA collaborates with local experts and distributors to ensure our solutions reach those who need them most.
Partnerships with companies like Seva Facility Services Private Limited have been fundamental in developing Rodexit installation solutions tailored for rodent proofing, effectively showcasing how collaboration can lead to industry-wide improvements.
By partnering with established pest control operators (PCOs) across India—such as Pecopp Pest Control Services Private Limited and Asiatic Pest Control Services Private Limited—we facilitate efficient access to pest monitoring and prevention products for the food industry.
Our partnerships have reached international shores, with distributors like Suren Cooke Agencies Private Limited in Sri Lanka, Pesterminators Private Limited in the Maldives and PT Kemika Karya Prathama in Indonesia successfully launching our products and ensuring effective pest monitoring and prevention solutions in their markets.
On this World Food Day, we express our sincere appreciation for our vendor partners, distributors, and food industry customers.
Together, we embody the collective effort required to ensure food safety in an increasingly interconnected world.
The responsibility of food protection is shared between the food industry and pest control professionals, and our collaboration is key to delivering safe, contamination-free food to consumers worldwide.
Finally, as we reflect on our journey, we remain committed to enhancing food safety, expanding our partnerships, and supporting food businesses and pest control companies in their endeavours to prevent and monitor pests throughout the food supply chain.
Today, we celebrate the vital roles played by all stakeholders in the global food ecosystem in ensuring access to safe, wholesome, and healthy food.
Thank you for being part of this essential mission.
Happy World Food Day 2025!
