Part 1: About Suren Cooke Agencies
Suren Cooke Agencies Pvt. Ltd. (Suren Cooke Agencies) stands as a testament to visionary entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka’s pest management industry. Founded in 1985 by Mr Suren Cooke, the company has always been guided by a mission to provide environmentally responsible and sustainable pest control solutions. Over nearly four decades, this family-owned business has led the way in introducing advanced, eco-friendly technologies that protect both people and the planet.
The company’s leadership team is firmly rooted in family values. Alongside Mr Suren Cooke, his wife, Mrs Dishni Cooke, and their sons, Mr Sheran Cooke and Mr Rajitha Cooke, serve as board members. The sons have since taken up the mantle of day-to-day management, infusing the business with a fresh commitment to ethics, integrity, and forward-thinking technologies. This generational transition has ensured that Suren Cooke Agencies remains at the forefront of innovation while staying true to its foundational principles.
With a clear vision to become Sri Lanka’s most trusted pest management partner, Suren Cooke Agencies focuses on enhancing the quality of life through organic and safe solutions. The company’s portfolio spans a diverse range of sectors, including corporate offices, hospitality, food processing, residential clients, and public health institutions. This broad reach is a testament to Suren Cooke Agencies’ adaptability and expertise in handling a wide range of pest management challenges across B2B and B2C.
Growth has been exponential, with services now extending throughout Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Suren Cooke Agencies is among the select few in the region to earn global accreditations and international recognition for its products and services. The company’s commitment to quality is reflected in its ISO 14001 environmental management certification and carbon-neutrality status, which echo its pledge to sustainable operations.
Innovation lies at the heart of the company’s operations. Suren Cooke Agencies introduced Sri Lanka’s first Ultrasonic Termite Detection system, pioneering the use of termite detection cameras and the X-Term termite baiting system. The company was also a trailblazer in carbon dioxide fumigation and has leveraged drone technology to combat disease-carrying Aedes aegypti mosquitoes responsible for chikungunya and dengue. Notably, the business was an early adopter of Biogents mosquito traps, further establishing its reputation as a leader in advanced pest management.
Recognition has followed innovation. Suren Cooke Agencies has received numerous accolades, including being named the leading pest management company in Asian Oceania and sustainability leader at the FAOPMA Pest Summit 2024 in Mumbai, and earning the ICSG Green Global Award for Sustainability.

Part 2: The Giridhar Pai Associates Partnership
In July 2021, my company, Giridhar Pai Associates LLP (GPA), joined forces with Carl Baptista of Pestroniks Innovations Pte Ltd (Pestroniks) to introduce the FLYght Duo to the market. The product launch, conducted virtually, sparked immediate interest, most notably from Rajitha Cooke (Rajitha), Director at Suren Cooke Agencies, via a LinkedIn message. This outreach, occurring at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, laid the foundation for a unique business alliance.
Navigating the logistical challenges of the pandemic, we successfully shipped FLYght Trap samples to Rajitha and his team. I soon hosted an online demonstration, introducing Suren Cooke Agencies to the patented Bio-Visual Enhancer (Bio-VE+) technology that powers the effectiveness of these traps. Rajitha’s enthusiasm for non-chemical, sustainable pest management resonated with GPA’s mission, but pandemic restrictions delayed formal imports until 2023.
That pivotal year saw the first shipment of FLYght One and FLYght Duo traps to Suren Cooke Agencies, who then began introducing these cutting-edge, energy-efficient UV LED insect light traps (ILTs) to the Sri Lankan market. A subsequent shipment followed in 2024, reflecting the growing interest in this innovative technology.
Adoption, while gradual, has been promising. Sri Lanka’s market, accustomed to traditional fluorescent tube-based ILTs, initially required education about the benefits of the new approach. The compact form factor, utilising just 8 X 1W UV LEDs, made the traps less obtrusive and more efficient. The Suren Cooke Agencies team demonstrated diligence in educating clients and expanding FLYght Traps’ reach, steadily building trust and market presence.
Our partnership deepened through continued engagement, first face-to-face at the FAOPMA Pest Summit 2024 in Mumbai, and later at Suren Cooke Agencies’ Colombo office in March 2025. Another meeting at the FAOPMA Pest Summit 2025 in Penang was marked by plans for a fresh import, including the new FLYght Deco model due to launch in March 2026. The FLYght Deco’s uplighter-style design makes it ideal for compact spaces such as cafes, bakeries, restaurants, and clinics, an excellent fit for the Sri Lankan landscape.
Rajitha Cooke, as a second-generation leader, embodies the values instilled by his father, combining vision, persistence, and a dedication to sustainable pest solutions. This alignment of values between GPA and Suren Cooke Agencies has been the cornerstone of our enduring partnership.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Rajitha and the entire Suren Cooke Agencies team for their commitment, resilience, and passion in advancing innovative, eco-friendly pest control in Sri Lanka. Our journey is proof that perseverance and collaborative spirit can overcome even the toughest global challenges to drive positive change.

Part 3: Suren Cooke Agencies’ Success with FLYght Traps
It is with great pride that we congratulate Suren Cooke Agencies on receiving their latest shipment of FLYght UV LED Insect Light Traps, marking a significant milestone in our three-year collaboration with Pestroniks Innovations Pte Ltd. This partnership, born out of virtual dialogues during the pandemic, has blossomed into a successful venture that has introduced world-class pest management technology to Sri Lanka.
From the outset, Director Rajitha Cooke recognised the potential of the patented Bio-Visual Enhancer (Bio-VE+) technology, becoming a driving force behind FLYght Traps’ adoption in the local market. Since the inaugural shipment in 2023, Suren Cooke Agencies has championed these state-of-the-art, energy-saving ILTs, setting a new industry standard.
The third-generation FLYght Traps stand apart from traditional fly killers by utilising glass-free UV LEDs, offering not only enhanced durability, with lifespans of up to 50,000 hours, but also a dramatic reduction in energy consumption, using just 20% of the electricity required by earlier models. With their sleek, modern design, these traps appeal to customers seeking both effectiveness and aesthetics.
The impact has been far-reaching. FLYght Traps, already established in markets across India, Singapore, the Maldives, and the USA, are now gaining traction with Sri Lankan businesses focused on food safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency. Maintenance is straightforward, requiring only changing glueboards and Bio-VE+ inserts, ensuring peace of mind for clients in demanding environments.
Building on this momentum, Suren Cooke Agencies is now set to launch the FLYght Deco, a new model designed specifically for spaces under 500 square feet. Its discreet, uplighter-style form factor makes it perfect for cafes, clinics, and boutique settings, broadening the possibilities for effective pest management in Sri Lanka.
On behalf of Pestroniks and Giridhar Pai Associates LLP, it is an honour to support Suren Cooke Agencies as they lead the country into a new era of pest control. Congratulations to the entire team for their unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in pest management solutions!

Congratulations to Suren Cooke Agencies Private Limited on the successful introduction of FLYght Traps to the Sri Lankan market between 2023 and 2026.
