The Rodent Proof polyester fibres are different; they are recycled from PET plastic bottles and have been treated with a flame-retardant agent.

6. How is Rodent Proof fill fabric different from steel wool?

Unlike steel wool, Rodent Proof Fill Fabric, aided by the synthetic fibres in it, expands to occupy the space in which you place it. Also, Rodent Proof fill fabric contains fire-retardant recycled PET fibres.

Installation & Use

1. How small a gap can Rodent Proof seal?

Rodent Proof is highly compressible and can be firmly packed into gaps as small as 5 mm (the size of a pencil eraser, sufficient for a mouse to enter).

2. How large an opening can a single roll seal?

The standard roll size is 10 cm x 300 cm, and is designed to be cut and shaped for various sizes. For larger openings (e.g., greater than 14mm), you may need to apply two layers or combine it with a reinforcing wire mesh or cement for maximum stability.

3. Do I need any special tools to install it?

You will need a pair of strong scissors or metal cutters to cut the fabric to size. We recommend using a blunt tool (such as a dull screwdriver or dowel) to compress and push the fabric firmly into the gap. Always wear gloves and safety goggles during installation.

4. Do I need to use caulk or mortar over the fabric?

While the fabric creates a secure seal on its own, we recommend applying a layer of silicone sealant, caulk, or mortar over the installed fabric for added stability, enhanced aesthetics, and weatherproofing.
