
As we publish our one hundredth blog post, we proudly mark a double milestone: Giridhar Pai Associates (GPA) is celebrating its sixth anniversary on 10 January 2026.
Our sixth anniversary gives us a great opportunity to look back on our journey and reflect on how we have transformed the pest control industry through our commitment to innovation, excellence, and the building of a sustainable ecosystem of partners.
Charting New Territory
Over the past six years, GPA has ventured into uncharted segments of the pest control industry, achieving significant successes where few have dared to tread.
We have demonstrated that pest monitoring and pest prevention are not just viable business segments but can generate substantial revenue for both product sellers and service providers such as Pest Control Operators (PCOs).
By supplementing traditional service revenue with innovative product sales, we have enabled PCOs to enhance their sales and profitability and diversify their offerings.
More importantly, GPA has opened doors for the Indian food industry to access global products that enable pest monitoring and prevention without relying on chemical pesticides.
I shall now highlight some aspects of our six-year eventful journey that have established us as a leading pest management product distributor in Asia.
Bringing Global Products to India and Beyond
The Indian pest control market is notoriously price-sensitive, and foreign product launches often face significant hurdles. PCOs typically don’t pursue expensive, though effective, products. In such a challenging environment, GPA has successfully introduced six international products over the last 6 years, establishing its presence and generating steady demand. Our approach is rooted in thorough product evaluation, meticulous content creation, and customer education, laying the foundation for continued portfolio expansion in 2026 and beyond. Our international partners are happy to support our sales forays into other countries, including Sri Lanka, the Maldives, the Middle East, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Proving the Efficacy of Alternative Approaches to Chemical Pesticides
While chemical pesticides have long dominated our industry, GPA has championed alternatives that focus on pest prevention and pest monitoring. Our journey began with FLYght Traps for fly monitoring. It expanded with AedesX, helping us appreciate the power of pest prevention, as that device prevents Aedes aegypti mosquitoes from developing into pupae. RodeXit has enabled businesses to reduce rodent trapping and baiting, while Storgard and Serrico Traps support the monitoring of stored product insects (SPIs), reducing the frequency of fumigation. Our Rodent Fill Fabric and Live Insect Bio Assay Kits further reinforce the shift toward non-chemical solutions, with the former enabling rodent-proofing and the latter serving as a handy tool for assessing fumigation efficacy. Although we did not invent pest prevention or pest monitoring, we have greatly expanded the choices available to customers seeking integrated, environmentally responsible pest management solutions.
Establishing Product Value Over Price
Our products are often priced higher than cheaper alternatives, but we remain steadfast in offering best-in-class solutions. We emphasise the long-term benefits of quality. For example, FLYght Traps use LEDs that last 50,000 hours, require no light replacement for over five years, and consume just 20% of the electricity used by conventional traps. RodeXit can last up to ten years, and Storgard Dome Trap lure trays remain effective for eight weeks. We emphasise to our distributors and customers that the cost of ownership or operating costs of products are as important as the initial price. With their long-lasting performance and efficacy, our products outperform cheaper alternatives so that customers can manage pests for less. The sustained demand for our products demonstrates that there is a market in India for superior, value-driven solutions.
Customer Satisfaction Through Speed and Reliability
GPA is renowned among its customers for fast and reliable deliveries, with express logistics for imports and prompt domestic dispatches, often within 24 hours. Our record of zero delivery failures over six years has earned us a reputation for reliability and responsiveness, fostering strong customer loyalty and repeat business.
Pioneering Rodent Proofing Services
Rodent complaints are a persistent issue for Indian PCOs, as traditional methods of trapping and baiting focus on population reduction rather than prevention. Since introducing RodeXit in 2022, GPA has guided PCOs in adopting rodent-exclusion solutions, resulting in substantial reductions in rodent damage. We also have PCO’s acknowledgement of their cost reduction due to fewer rodents entering their customers’ premises and causing less damage. With our recent introduction of Rodent Proof Fill Fabric and the upcoming Rodent Proofing Academy workshops, we are equipping the industry with new tools and knowledge for effective, profitable rodent proofing.
Revitalising Stored Product Insect Monitoring
Having pioneered SPI monitoring in India over two decades ago, I am proud to have revived this essential service by supplying Storgard and Serrico pheromone traps and lures. I have conducted online master classes on SPI monitoring using pheromone traps to educate users about the subject and the benefits of our products. Today, Indian PCOs view SPI monitoring as a valuable, pesticide-free service offering, one that GPA continues to support and promote. SPI monitoring influences the incidences of fumigation and application of pesticide emulsion for SPI control.
Excellence in Digital Marketing
From a single website in 2020, GPA has grown its digital presence to include a YouTube channel and LinkedIn company page, now recognised as industry-leading platforms with rich content and active engagement. This 100th blog post is a testament to our dedication to sharing knowledge and fostering community within the pest control sector, an achievement few Indian or even overseas pest control companies can claim. In tandem, our YouTube channel has achieved a milestone of fifty videos, again an exemplary achievement in the pest control industry.
