Learn the features, benefits and how to use the Quick Change Dome Trap through videos

Introduction

The Quick Change, or QC Dome, is Trece, Inc.’s highly improved version of the Storgard Dome Trap, popular worldwide for the past four decades.

In the QC Dome, Trece has combined the pheromone lure and the kairomone into a lure tray, replacing the pheromone lure and kairomone oil used in the old Dome Trap.

The QC Dome has a new Quick Change Snugfit lure tray with improved beetle attraction and trapping power.

The QC Dome lure tray’s improved pheromone and kairomone formulations make it more effective in monitoring male and female stored product beetles than the previous pheromone lure plus kairomone oil combination in the Dome Traps.

Giridhar Pai Associates (GPA) introduced the QC Dome to Asian customers in late 2024, and by early 2025, many of GPA’s customers had switched to the QC Dome Trap.

Using the QC Dome, you can monitor stored product beetle pests like cigarette beetles (CB), confused and red flour beetles (CFB/RFB) and khapra and warehouse beetles (KB/WB).

Benefits of the QC Dome Trap

  • It is durable because the trap is reusable.
  • Use it in tight spaces like pallets or below stored product racks.
  • It is easier to use because you can quickly deploy it and replace its lure trays.
  • It consistently catches male and female stored product beetle pests.
  • It is low-cost because you only need to replace the lure tray once every two months.

Trece Storgard Quick Change (QC) Dome Trap with the Ultra Combi (UC) Lure Tray

The Storgard Quick Change Dome Trap is also available with the Ultra Combi Lure Tray.

“Ultra Combi” comes from the words “Ultra” and “Combination” because it contains the pheromones of five different stored-product insect pests and can attract them from a single lure tray.

The Ultra Combi lure tray has pheromones of:

  1. The cigarette beetle,
  2. The confused and red flour beetles and
  3. The khapra and warehouse beetles

In addition, it has kairomones or food attractants that attract seven other beetle pests:

  1. The Drugstore Beetle
  2. The Rusty Grain Beetle
  3. The Saw-Toothed Grain Beetle
  4. The Red-Legged Ham Beetle
  5. The Granary Weevil
  6. The Maize Weevil
  7. The Rice Weevil

Benefits of using the Ultra Combi Quick Change Dome Trap

  • To monitor five key stored product beetle pests, replace the separate pheromone lures and traps with one UC lure tray and a QC Dome trap.
  • Monitoring seven other stored product beetle pests through the kairomone is a bonus.
  • You can monitor twelve stored product beetle pests using the Ultra Combi Quick Change (UCQC) Dome Trap.

If you monitor cigarette beetles, confused and red flour beetles, khapra beetles, and warehouse beetles with three traps and lures, we want you to switch to the UCQC Dome Trap.

GPA’s Quick Change Dome Trap video playlist

GPA is the Indian pioneer in using YouTube videos to convey the benefits of its products and their use.

After creating video playlists of its first two products, the FLYght UV LED Insect Light Traps and the RodeXit All-In-One rodent seal, GPA has created one for its Storgard QC Dome Traps.

The third GPA video playlist, The Storgard Quick Change Dome Trap – features, benefits, variants and use, is a comprehensive guide to the QC Dome Trap.

The three short videos in the Storgard video playlist are less than two minutes long, highlighting the QC Dome Trap and the Ultra Combi QC Lure Tray and how to use the trap.

GPA introduced the QC Dome Trap in India in 2024, and numerous Indian customers have already switched to this revolutionary new product, a vast improvement over its previous version.

The QC Dome is an essential food safety tool that is a critical component of stored product beetle pest monitoring programmes in the food industry.

Numerous Indian spice processors, dairy product manufacturers and other food processors have already chosen the Trece Storgard QC Dome for their pheromone trap monitoring programme.

With the advent of the Ultra Combi QC Dome, the user can now use just one trap to monitor twelve beetle types and save time, effort and money in pheromone trap monitoring.

Our Storgard webpage has all the details of the Quick Change Dome Trap, the UCQC Dome Trap and the beetle pests that the QC Dome Trap can monitor.
