In November 2024, Giridhar Pai Associates LLP (GPA) reached the milestone of selling one thousand metres of the RodeXit All-In-One rodent seal (RodeXit) after launching the product in April 2022.

Earlier, GPA had reached the milestone of selling five hundred metres of RodeXit in December 2023.

RodeXit’s journey in India has had challenges in the price-conscious pest control market, which requires creative marketing and persistence.

Early adopters play a crucial role in driving innovation, bridging the gap between innovators and the early majority to propel progress.

The global pest control industry often sees a slow pace of innovation and adoption.

Pest control operators (PCOs) often prioritize trapping and baiting rodents over advising customers on hygiene improvements and rodent-proofing.

The focus on rodent trapping and rodent baiting, which generates revenue for PCOs, can sometimes overshadow the importance of proactive rodent prevention.

However, the global rodent management market is undergoing a significant transformation with a gradual switch to rodent prevention and innovative products like contraceptives to control rodent populations.

Growing concerns about the environmental impact of rodenticides and their potential harm to non-target species are driving a shift towards more sustainable and humane rodent management practices.

In several Indian states, the governments have called for restrictions on glueboards for rodent trapping, citing their use as a cruel rodent trapping method.

By prioritizing hygiene and implementing rodent-proofing measures, pest management programs at food factories can reduce rodent populations, minimize reliance on rodenticides, and focus on monitoring and controlling a smaller number of rodents (which remain after rodent proofing).

Leading global food safety standards like the BRC Global Standard of Food Safety and the AIB International Consolidated Standards of Inspection – Food Safety and Pre-requisite programs emphasize pest prevention and monitoring before using pesticides like rodenticides.

Effective rodent proofing requires addressing common entry points, such as gaps beneath doors, shutters, and pipe openings.

Food factories closing gaps to prevent rodent entry find it easier to comply with food safety standards and minimize or eliminate rodent damage to products and packaging.

RodeXit’s Danish manufacturer introduced their revolutionary rodent seal with ten stainless steel wires, first in the United States of America — the world’s largest pest control market.

GPA brought this innovative solution to India in April 2022, making India the second country where RodeXit became available.

In just over two years, GPA has successfully distributed over a thousand meters of RodeXit through Indian Pest Control Companies who are its distributors.

GPA extends its sincere gratitude to the sixteen pioneering Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) who embraced RodeXit and helped pave the way for its success in India:
