First-time display of FLYght and RodeXit in India at the Clean India Show, Greater NOIDA, from July 13 to 15, 2022

Since 2005, the Clean India Show (CIS) has brought together cleaning & hygiene industry professionals and end-users to promote facility cleaning and maintenance in India. CIS is now the single largest Cleaning Industry platform for manufacturers to showcase their cleaning & hygiene solutions.  In addition, facility management (FM) professionals patronize CIS to learn the latest product innovations and cleaning solutions from across the globe. CIS is a great place for FM professionals to update themselves with the latest innovation & technology for managing commercial, municipal, industrial & residential buildings. CIS is a sought-after networking event for product suppliers & solution seekers to connect, establish and grow their relationships. GPAL is happy to announce that its distributor, PECOPP Pest Control Services Private Limited (PECOPP), is displaying FLYght traps and RodeXit proofing strips for the first time in India at a trade show through the CIS 2022. When GPAL launched FLYght One UV LED ILT in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown allowed only for an online event.  However, a year later, when GPAL launched FLYght Duo UV LED ILT in 2021, that event was online, too, as India was during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The launch of RodeXit in April 2022 was also an online event as GPAL distributors were in different Indian cities and could only meet RodeXit inventor Bjorn von Ryberg in Denmark and their marketing advisor Raja Mahendran in Australia over a video call. With the resumption of trade shows, it is now business as usual, and we look forward to customers getting a feel of FLYght and RodeXit at PECOPP’s CIS 2022 stall. Here is what you can expect when you see those products for the first time. FLYght traps: FLYght One and FLYght Duo are compact, making many viewers wonder how such a small trap can be effective as conventional fluorescent tube ILTs, which are about double the size of FLYght traps.  The metal shell of FLYght traps makes them sturdy and last longer and withstand handling without damage for many years. You can also open the FLYght trap to notice that the eight UV LEDs face the white bio-Visual Enhancer (VE)+ board at the back of the trap.  The bright glow you notice is a reflection from the bioVE+ board, and its UV component (which people can’t see) attracts filth flies to the FLYght trap.  You will see that the two glue boards slide into the trap, and a viewer can’t see the flies stuck on them.  The most amazing aspect of both traps is that FLYght is under two kilograms, and FLYght One is slightly heavier than two kilograms. RodeXit: RodeXit has been available in India only since April 2022, and thus few Indian customers have seen it.  However, GPAL’s distributors have shown the product’s samples to FM teams across India. RodeXit is available as a twenty-five-meter roll in flat cardboard boxes and is very handy to move around. The RodeXit roll is suitable for cutting in any length, which avoids wastage, which is common with other rodent proofing products that their manufacturers sell in pre-set lengths. The screw markings across the strip are guides to installers and are key for quick fixing RodeXit on doors and shutters. When you touch the RodeXit strip, you will feel it has a rubbery texture as it is a Santoprene elastomer (thermoplastic vulcanizate).  RodeXit is rigid enough to withstand pressure but retains flexibility for door and shutter use after RodeXit installation.  When you observe the cut end of RodeXit, you will notice the ten steel wires impart RodeXit’s ability to repel rodents.  Unfortunately, due to the presence of the steel wires, you can only cut RodeXit using a metal cutter, though you can trim the elastomer portion using Stanley knives. Customers can avail of the special discount that PECOPP is offering for order bookings at the CIS 2022 at their stall. We look forward to meeting you at the PECOPP CIS 2022 stall, where their team shall show you FLYght One and FLYght Duo flycatchers and the RodeXit All- In-One rodent proofing strip. Are you tired of rodents entering and damaging your property?

Let RodeXit rodent-proofing strip stop their entry into your premises. Rodents are among the most destructive pests on the earth that damage and destroy enormous property each year, gaining entry through the smallest openings in buildings.  While trapping and poison-baiting rodents curb them, temporarily limiting their numbers, effective rodent management requires sanitation and rodent-proofing. Experts believe that rodent management is twenty percent trapping and baiting and eighty percent cleaning and prevention. The most important aspect of rodent management is sanitation or effective cleaning. When you regularly clean your premises to remove food and water sources, you deny nutrition to rodents entering or already in there.  In addition, de-cluttering and organized storage prevent rodent harbourage that could lead to their nesting and breeding. Another effective step in rodent management is proofing to deny entry into a property. If mice or rats cannot enter your property, they can’t cause any further damage. Smart property owners have relied on rodent proofing as their principal step in tackling rodents. Using effective materials, they seal the rodent entry points into their buildings and enjoy the benefits of reduced rodent entry and activity inside their structures. We are happy to introduce Indian customers to Denmark’s RodeXit All-In-One Seal, an effective rodent proofing strip of Santoprene and steel wires. RodeXit has successfully passed rat-attack tests and deters mice, rats, and bandicoots from entering a structure that property owners have sealed. RodeXit finds ready acceptance among food safety and quality auditors as a rodent preventive step leading to high audit ratings and scores. RodeXit is a 6.2 cm. wide strip available in any length, and we can install it for you in under thirty minutes in most cases. After installing RodeXit, you will be able to prevent rodents from entering your premises for the next decade (under favorable conditions) as it is long-lasting and weather-proof. Our distributors look forward to rodent-proofing your premises with RodeXit. #RodentManagement #RodentProofing #RodenProofingRevolution #KeepRodentsOut #RodeXitIinRodentsOut

India becomes the second country where the RodeXit rodent proofing strip is available

India becomes the second country where the RodeXit rodent proofing strip is available This week, after receiving our first RodeXit All-In-One (AIO) seal from RodeXit North America ApS, India thus became the second country where this amazing rodent proofing material is now available. RodeXit is now available only in the USA and India. India is also one of the first countries where RodeXit’s AIO seal is available.  Its manufacturer introduced this latest variant early in 2022 to follow the first two product versions of the wave and straight proofing strips.  With the arrival of RodeXit AIO into the country, Indian customers now have a simple and easy-to-use rodent proofing material for use to prevent rodent entry into their facilities.  Through careful market analysis and planning, GPAL has ensured that the product pricing is highly affordable and leads to widespread adoption of the product in India. We are proud to associate with RodeXit, whose vision and mission are as follows: Vision: Our vision is to minimize the colossal losses suffered by individuals, enterprises, and society due to rodent intrusion in buildings and public facilities. Mission: Our mission is to develop, produce and sell effective and fast, and easy to mount rodent proofing devices and thereby to revolutionize the art of rodent proofing. Bjørn von Ryberg and Claus Frimand invented and developed the RodeXit seals in Denmark. The RodeXit Name and Logo: “RodeXit” is a contraction of the two words “rodent” and “exit.”  The underscore line in the logo is the cross-section of the RodeXit rodent proofing strip – showing the ten solid stainless-steel wires as ten white dots.  The green color in the logo symbolizes that the proofing strip is an ecofriendly and non-toxic solution to rodents. We shall soon be sharing RodeXit AIO product samples among our distributors so that they can install the proofing strip at their customers’ facilities to establish the product’s ease of installation and efficacy.  In addition, we shall be producing product use videos that demonstrate how a person can quickly fix a RodeXit AIO on a wooden or steel door in less than half an hour.  Our plans include an All India RodeXit Installation Challenge to find out the fastest time a PCO can provide rodent-proof structures with RodeXit.  The short time to fix it and the long time it will prevent rodent incursion make the RodeXit proofing strip a go-to product for Indian Pest Management Professionals and PCOs. We thank Bjørn von Ryberg and Raja Mahendran for their excellent support and guidance in introducing the RodeXit AIO to the Indian market.  Both shall grace the online Indian launch of RodeXit, and we look forward to making India the leading RodeXit user in the Asian continent.  We are excited to offer a highly innovative world-class pest management product, the RodeXit AIO, to Indian customers.

Ten quirky mosquito gravitrap facts

Mosquito gravitraps are devices that attract gravid female Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus seeking to lay eggs by creating microenvironments for safe egg-laying. With differing techniques, global gravitrap manufacturers have innovatively used mosquito behavior to lure and trap mosquitoes or kill them or their larvae. While studying the global range of commercially available gravitraps in the global market, we found the following TEN interesting aspects about them for you. Black gravitraps attract adult female mosquitoes, which seek dark places for egg-laying. Some gravitraps use oviposition cues they generate through hay or yeast-infused water (which one manufacturer calls ‘stinky water’). Some gravitraps use glueboards to trap female adult mosquitoes to control their population. Larvae secreted pheromones in gravitrap water attract female adult mosquitoes. Some gravitraps use mosquito larvae’s negative phototactic response to repel and kill them by asphyxiation. It would help freeze live adult mosquitoes you caught in a trap to inactivate them before examining them. Predators like ants like mosquito gravitraps for live adult mosquitoes in those devices that the ants use as prey! Gravitraps use Aedes aegypti behavior of laying eggs in multiple containers. Some gravitraps use pesticides or fungal biological control agents to kill mosquitoes. Cannibalism by mosquito larvae transmits pesticides from dead pupae to the larvae feeding on such pupae in gravitraps.

Amazing power savings by use of FLYght UV LED Insect Light Traps (ILTs)

As the world moves to a net-zero regime where human activity does not add net carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, every aspect of life will change, including business practices and services. In pest management, we at Pestroniks foresee a major shift from conventional UV fluorescent tube ILTs to UV LED ILTs as trap manufacturers comply with national government regulations for phase-out fluorescent tubes. While Singapore is looking to stop the usage of non-LED light fixtures after 2022, in India, the central and state governments incentivized consumers to switch to LEDs for power savings. FLYght traps don’t just help users follow the rules which do not allow fluorescent tubes. Still, their LEDs generate enormous savings in operating power costs compared to regular fluorescent tube traps. Look at the 71% savings you can generate from FLYght traps over two-tube traps or 81% savings over three-tube traps. When estimating power consumption, we use the actual power consumed and not just the power rating (for example, 8W LEDs consume 9W power and 45-W tubes consume 53W). However, we have assumed a cost per kWh of energy in Indian rupees, which you can interchange with any currency for the same results. Indian companies that follow the April to March financial year cycle have started budgeting for their purchase of FLYght traps. Our customers benefit from power savings and the freedom to replace fluorescent tubes annually as FLYght’s UV LEDs do not need users to replace them over 50,000 hours. We are currently busy assisting our customers in planning their 2022-23 budgets in which they invest in FLYght One, and Duo traps to help them save on fly monitoring costs.

GPAL launches Denmark’s RodeXit Rodent Proofing Strip in India

We are happy to announce that GPAL is now the sole authorized distributor of Denmark’s RodeXit ApS, makers of the famous, patented, RodeXit rodent proofing strip. We shall soon be sharing RodeXit proofing samples with interested customers from February 2022 and supplying the product from April 2022. RodeXit is a Santoprene proofing strip containing ten steel wires that deter rodents from chewing through it like most rodent proofing materials that people commonly use. Santoprene is a soft and versatile thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) in the thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) family. As RodeXit is versatile, you can seal gaps below doors or shutters and vertical (or astragal) gaps between glass doors. The proof of RodeXit’s efficacy is the successful result of the Danish Technological Institute’s ‘rat attack test’ in which rats could not damage or push up the RodeXit test strip for a week. RodeXit is a good option for protection against mice, rats, and bandicoots. Proofing gaps with RodeXit also helps prevent the entry of other pests, an incidental benefit. RodeXit is easy to handle and install with tin snips and Stanley knives. The screw markings on the product guide the user to fix it fast and complete the process in just ten minutes in most cases. Quick installation is a key RodeXit feature, and the product lasts for ten years from installation. RodeXit is suitable for closing gaps up to 50 mm. for which you would use two overlapping strips each of 35 mm. width. Therefore, you use two overlapping layers of RodeXit for a higher degree of rodent protection. RodeXit is versatile, and you can fix it on wooden or metal strips (such as carpet trims) to maintain aesthetics while rodent-proofing a gap. We supply RodeXit in 25 m. lengths in flat boxes, which are easy to carry even in a backpack with the minimal tools you need to fix it. You are better off preventing rodent entry into your home or business as the consequences of rodent presence include contamination, damage, bad odor, and spread of diseases. An easier option to trapping or baiting rodents is presenting their entry using RodeXit proofing strips. We at GPAL are proud to launch our third international brand at the start of our third year by making RodeXit available to Indian customers. We have planned an inexpensive rate per foot linear length of the RodeXit proofing strip to make it popular across India. With RodeXit, rodent management in India now has a new ally – a Santoprene proofing strip with ten stainless steel wires that deters the toughest rodent from entering a place. Giridhar Pai Associates LLP launches the AedesX Smart Gravitrap in India

The AedesX Smart Gravitrap is an effective, scientific, portable, flexible, low-maintenance, and pesticide-free ovi-trap against Aedes mosquitoes. In November 2020, Asiatic Specialty Products (ASP) of Singapore introduced the AedesX Smart Gravitrap, the only trap of its kind with a unique mode of action of using their response to light to kill Aedes mosquito larvae without chemical pesticides. AedesX Smart Gravitrap is a patented product that kills Aedes larvae naturally by using their negative phototactic behavior by which they move away from light. AedesX Smart Gravitrap’s design attracts and provides a conducive environment for female Aedes mosquitoes looking to lay their eggs. The AedesX Smart Gravitrap works on batteries and needs a water top-up for maintenance. AedesX Smart Gravitrap is portable and flexible for deployment in any environment that needs Aedes mosquito control. When you use it in the appropriate locations and sufficient numbers, the AedesX Smart Gravitrap significantly reduces future mosquito populations reducing the potential for disease transmission in the area where users deploy it. ASP is the proud innovator and owner of AedesX, the world’s first Smart Gravitrap co-developed with Pestroniks Innovations (Pestroniks) to add to the global arsenal in the ongoing battle against Aedes mosquitoes and the diseases they spread. We thank ASP and Pestroniks for their support in launching AedesX Smart Gravitrap in India from December 2021.

Shipping the One-Hundredth FLYght trap in India

We shipped the one-hundredth FLYght trap in India today, 6 October 2021, to Symega Food Ingredients Limited. A year ago, we made our first FLYght trap shipment on 14 September 2020 to The Sad Vaidyasala Private Limited. When we launched FLYght One in India in July 2020, we knew of the challenges in marketing our product. We introduced India’s first UV LED Insect Light Trap to customers managing their businesses during a once-in-a-century pandemic. With support from our distributors and the interest of pioneering customers who preferred an advanced technology trap that significantly saved on electricity, we managed to sell nearly a hundred traps by March 2021. The COVID-19 second wave affected our FLYght Duo launch and shipments. Customers have enthusiastically chosen the aluminum shell FLYght Duo. We are offering a free one-year glue board supply and shipping of FLYght traps for the next six months. Thank you, customers, distributors, and Pestroniks team for helping us reach this milestone.

The Ultimate Guide to Choosing and Using UV LED Insect Light Traps

Insect Light Trap technology had evolved over the past ninety years when William M Frost patented a fly zapper in the United States. The first major change in ILTs was a shift from using an electrical grid to electrocute flies to the use of glue boards to trap them. With the advent of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) for consumer and commercial lighting in the past few decades, it was merely time before we would have UV LEDs in Insect Light Traps.  At Pestroniks, we were the first UV LED Insect Light Trap manufacturers to launch such traps in 2020. We spent years researching how UV LEDs affect filth flies and have designed our FLYght traps for maximally attracting flies. In addition, our traps’ patented bio-Visual Enhancer (VE+) trap coating benefits the UV-A from LEDs to allure flies, like happens in wild carnivorous plants that draw insects for a meal. Here is Pestroniks’ ultimate guide to help you choose the best UV LED Insect Light Trap in the market. LED position determines a trap’s effectiveness: LEDs emit light very differently from fluorescent tubes, which were hitherto the choice of ILT makers. Pestroniks has carefully positioned the LEDs to ensure that FLYght traps unfailingly attract flies.  LEDs should reduce power consumption: Our FLYght traps have only 8 LEDs that draw just 9 W of power-saving 72% over two fluorescent tubes of 30 W rating and 80% over three fluorescent tubes of 45 W rating. Can you imagine such huge savings in electricity expenses? You may find some ILT brands with so many UV LEDs that those traps are likely to generate no power savings when you compare them to fluorescent UV traps. LED tubes versus LEDs: Some of the ILTs in the market have UV LED tubes making you wonder about the benefit of such an arrangement. In FLYght traps, we place UV LEDs individually, spacing them for the best trap UV-A output in conjunction with the bio-VE+ coating. Attracting flies matters more than UV output: ILTs work by UV attracting flies, and in an era of UV fluorescent tubes, the higher a trap’s UV, the better it could lure flies. FLYght traps, we have focussed on just enough UV-A output to maximize the fly catch. We don’t claim to have LEDs that emit the most UV-A as we are focused on making our traps attract flies through trap design and our patented bio-VE technology. Insect light traps can be attractive, too: FLYght traps are light yet sturdy, sleek, and compact but attract and trap flies like any effective ILT should and at times even better than conventional fluorescent tube traps. Our traps weigh under two kilograms but are sturdy in their aluminum shell. LEDs help us keep the FLYght design sleek and compact and even accommodate universal glue boards. The result of our design thinking has generated a trap that looks part of your interior décor, not a fly trap. Trapping flies discreetly: Viewers may be surprised not seeing flies inside a FLYght trap as that is what we set out to design. We concealed FLYght’s glue boards to trap flies after entry, but the trapped flies remain out of sight of viewers near the trap. Retaining tackiness of glueboards: The UV in ILTs affects the tackiness of glue in glue boards. Other ILT manufacturers suggest glue board change because glueboards in their traps are continually getting UV-A exposure and losing their fly trapping ability. You won’t face any such challenge in FLYght traps as we made sure that our traps’ glue boards don’t face the UV! No annual light-source replacement: We give you FLYght traps with UV LEDs that last a long time or 50,000 hours! So, we don’t suggest you plan for any light source replacement for five years! No more hassle of planning fluorescent tube replacement or spending on it. Get a FLYght trap and switch it on to operate it efficiently over many years. No more plastic sleeves on tubes or shatterproof tubes: We use inherently glass-free UV LEDs in our FLYght traps. When using FLYght traps, you don’t have to worry about getting plastic sleeved or shatterproof fluorescent tubes to contain glass in accidental breakage. No more worrying about hazardous waste: Regular ILTs have fluorescent tubes, which you must dispose of annually and carefully because they contain heavy metals. FLYght UV LEDs are free of any toxic material, leaving you free from worrying about waste disposal from your ILTs. We hope our suggestions helped you understand the UV LED technology of Insect Light Traps. Please get in touch with us for help to choose and use UV LED ILTs.
